Cadillac ATS |
The direct-injected, force-fed 2.0L 4-cylinder engine will generate an estimated 270 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque on higher-end models. About 90% of that torque will be available from 1,500 to 5,800 rpm, making the ATS rather potent.
Other powertrains will include a naturally aspirated 2.5L 4-cylinder and a 3.6L V6.
Hoping to rival BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz in the compact luxury segment, GM is quick to list the ways in which the turbocharged 2013 Cadillac ATS trumps the competition. Its 135 hp/L ratio, for instance, tops the Audi A4 (105.5), BMW M3 (103.5), Lexus IS F (83.2), and Mercedes-Benz C250 Turbo (111.6).
