Infiniti M45 investigated by the NHTSA

Infiniti M45

Bad news for the luxury division of the Japanese based automaker Nissan, after the M45 model has entered the NHTSA investigation.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Infiniti M45 is being investigated after the government organization has received 43 complaints about inaccurate fuel gauge reading. The NHTSA says that out of the 43 complaints received, in 26 cases, the improperly calibrated fuel gauges have led to instances of engine stalling. Approximately 8.100 units of the Infiniti M45 models are currently investigated by the feds and their owners might make a trip back to the dealers, in case of a recall being announced.
“The complaints show an apparent increasing trend, with most received within the past year”, said the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in its report summary.
Even if there is no official word about a recall yet, owners of the Infiniti M45 models in the United States might have to make a trip back to the dealers early next year in order to get this problem fixed. The Japanese based car manufacturer will most likely take care of this issue for free and, as we said above, approximately 8.100 units of the 2003 and 2004 model year Infiniti M45 will be affected by a possible recall.
