Lexus LF-LC concept officially revealed

Lexus LF-FC Concept
Lexus has decided to release an image of the new Lexus LF-LC concept it plans to unveil at the 2012 North American International Auto Show, after images of the concept were leaked online earlier this week.

Road & Track magazine in the US initially found images of the elegant and extravagant new coupe and posted them onto its YouTube channel, and on the front cover of its magazine. This pretty much forced Lexus into revealing shots of its own. Some details of the coupe have been confirmed with the official release.

The Lexus LF-LC concept will be a 2+2 coupe, using a hybrid drive system. The concept also previews a fresh design direction for Lexus, and is expected to spawn a new luxury production coupe in the future. Lexus Australia chief executive Tony Cramb said, “A clean sheet of paper design, coming at the request of Lexus headquarters in Japan, LF-LC combines Lexus technological expertise with natural, organic shapes to connect car and driver. The lines of the car are designed to emphasise motion, which creates a distinctive look for this futuristic sport coupe.”

Lexus is in need of a new luxury grand touring coupe – a replacement to the Lexus SC430 of 2005 – and one that will slot beneath the mega Lexus LFA in terms of price and specification.

The concept will be unveiled at the Detroit show at 6:25am (AEDST) on January 10. Look forward to our full coverage.
