Mercedes-Benz has confirmed the launch of the SLS AMG Roadster at the 2012 Auto Expo show which will be held in New Delhi next month starting from January 5.

"Our showcase at the Auto Expo this year will be impressive both in terms of presentation and display vehicles. There will be several show-stoppers including the launch of the stunning SLS AMG Roadster," Mercedes-Benz India Managing Director, Peter Honegg said in a statement.

The German carmaker has rented space of 3600 square metres at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi for the 11th Auto Expo to make sure they don't run out of space to display more than ten cars including the new A-Class concept hatchback, the SLS GTR and the DTM car. The company will also showcase Fuel-Cell technology, one of the ways forward for the automotive industry.

Mercedes-Benz will use the Auto Expo platform to connect with motorsports enthusiasts and will commence the enrollment process for their soon-to-be launched Performance Driving Academy in association with Jaypee Sports International. We expect the school be along the lines of the workshops it conducts across the globe for owners and potential customers, where they get to learn to drive high-performance rear-drive cars in the relative safety of a racetrack.
