2013 Lexus LX570 previewed ahead of Detroit debut

Lexus LX570

The Japanese based automaker Lexus has recently previewed the 2013 LX570 ahead of its official debut at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show.

Even if the Lexus LX570 has actually skipped the 2012 model year, it’s now back and with the 2012 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit going on these days, the vehicle has been previewed by the car manufacturer ahead of its debut. According to Lexus, the 2013 LX570 is sharing the same platform as the 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser and, as you can see from the image posted above, it’s coming with a Lexus-look-alike grille and headlamps, turning to the 2013 GS sedans and event to the LF-LC Concept, which will also debut at the same automotive event.

Lexus says that the 2013 LX570 is powered by a 5.7 liter V8 engine which is developing a total output of 383 horsepower and it has a peak torque of 403 lb-ft available from 2.200 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with sequential shifting which is sending power to the four-wheel drive system. The drivetrain from the “new” LX570 is practically carried over from the 2011 model year crossover and the vehicle now has 10 standard airbags, a rearview camera and active headrests, all in standard. Besides these, every LX is coming with smartphone connectivity, four-zone climate controle, navigation system and the 19-speaker Mark Levinson stereo system, as an answer to the Range Rover one.
