DC Design makes India’s first supercar

The Indian design firm from Mumbai, named DC Design, is getting ready for the 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo, where its latest creation will be presented to the public.

After having some economic growth in the past year and with its people living by the extremes, India is one of the most important countries in Asia, in terms of investment, and this is beginning to be seen by the outsiders too. But this isn’t the case in this news, which is about a local design firm wanting a piece of the cake from the big boys, and a first step into this direction has already been made, a supercar which will be officially presented to the public at the upcoming 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo.

Even if we don’t have any official details on the supercar made by DC Design, not even its name, we know that it will be mid-engined and its unit will most likely be developed by Honda. The engine which will most likely be used in DC Design’s vehicle is expected to be tweaked to develop around 400 horsepower. Rumors say that DC Design is planning to produce its supercar starting from 2013, and if the demand is large enough, 3,000 units of the model will be manufactured each year. The starting price is expected to be set around 56,000 USD.
