2013 Mercedes-Benz SL

The German based automaker Mercedes-Benz has recently revealed the 2013 SL generation, ahead of its official debut at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show.

After being teased for quite some time and with details rarely emerging, the new generation of the popular Mercedes-Benz SL Class is finally here and the model will be officially presented to the public at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. According to the car manufacturer, the sixth generation of the Mercedes-Benz SL Class is coming with all the features we’ve talked about not too long ago, like the HVAC systems, the Magic Vision Control, the folding hardtop roof with Magic Sky Control and many more things.

The model presented in the image above is actually a limited edition, named the Edition 1, which is coming with Designo leather, Airscarf, Harmon Kardon surround audio system, Designo crystal silver magno paintwork and the 19 inch AMG wheels. The Edition 1 has been based on the SL550, which is being powered by the 4.6 liter twin-turbo V8 engine, developing a total output of 429 horsepower at 5.240 rpm and having a peak torque of 516 lb-ft of torque, available at 1.800 rpm. The 0 to 60 mph acceleration takes just 4.5 seconds, compared to the “old” 5.2 seconds, and the top speed has been limited to 130 mph.
