2013 Toyota Land Cruiser Revealed, Prices Announced

2013 Toyota Land Cruiser

The Japanese based automaker Toyota has officially revealed the 2013 model year of the Land Cruiser model. The base MSRP price for the 2013 Land Cruiser will be $77,955, the Japanese automaker said. The MSRP for the 2013 Land Cruiser will go into effect with the start of production on January 6.

Visual changes for the 2013 model begin with new 18-inch aluminum wheels, a redesigned front grille, new HID headlights, and new LED running lights. A new color, Pearl White, joins Classic Silver Metallic, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Salsa Red Pearl, Sonora Gold Pearl, Amazon Green Metallic and black.

Moving on to the cabin we find that some of the features which were once available as an option are now coming in standard, like the rain sensing windshield wipers, the DVD entertainment, the center console cooler box, the leather trimmed steering wheel and gear knob, the headlamp cleaners, the multi information display with voice activation, the second row seats, the Bluetooth connectivity and the JBL speaker system.

Inside, the Land Cruiser will have perforated leather trim with ventilated front seats, a higher gloss wood-grain finish, brighter silver instrument panel ornamentation, chrome-plated air registers and updated meter-cluster lighting.

Special foam-filled A-pillars and a “bifacial” molding between the windshield and the body both help reduce wind noise, while underneath new panels behind the front bumper and extending under the engine, and behind the rear wheels, help protect the mechanicals when going over rocky terrain.

The Land Cruiser’s 5.7-liter V8 DOHC engine produces 381 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 401 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 rpm. Ninety percent of peak torque is available at just 2,200 rpm, helping make it an outstanding tow vehicle. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift mode, allowing the driver to change the gears manually, and power is sent to the full-time all-wheel drive with a low-range ratio.

The 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser has a 40:60 front-to-rear power distribution, directing more power to the wheels with the best grip. The model is now sitting on 18 inch alloy wheels and it’s coming with 10 airbags, stability and traction systems, tire pressure monitor system, sonar parking sensors, Pre-Collision System and a lot of extra safety features, in standard.

Of course, because the Land Cruiser is billed as a true off-road vehicle, driving aids like KDSS (Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System) and Multi-Terrain Select are standard.
