Lincoln MKZ Sedan Concept |
Ford’s Lincoln brand has officially announced that the MKZ Sedan Concept will be presented to the public next week, at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show.
According to the car manufacturer, the Lincoln replacement for the current MKZ will be officially presented to the public, in concept form, at the upcoming North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), in Detroit. The automaker says that the 2013 MKZ will be made on a new platform, which is also underpinning the next Ford Fusion and its European counterpart, the Mondeo. The upcoming generation of the Lincoln MKZ will continue to use a front-wheel drive platform, but its future customers will also be able to choose an optional all-wheel drive system.
“This is the biggest statement Lincoln has ever made at an auto show. Our NAIAS display represents more than a vehicle debut. It represents the reinvention of Lincoln”, as the Lincoln director of design, Max Wolff, said in a statement.Even if there’s no official word on this yet, a hybrid version of the Lincoln MKZ might also be in the books and it will be offered to supplement a range of V6 and turbocharged four-cylinder engines. Sadly this is all we know about the Lincoln MKZ Sedan Concept until now, but the vehicle will be officially presented to the public next week, at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show. The production version of the model is expected to debut later in 2012, or early 2013.
